Did you know Super Simple Songs has been around since almost the very beginning of YouTube? It’s true! What started as a simple way to help teach English to young learners in Japan has grown into something we never could have imagined: a world filled with beloved characters, millions of families singing together every day, and a global community of educators, parents, grandparents, and caregivers who have made Super Simple a part of childhood for an entire generation. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’d love to share the story of how it all began.
On September 8, 2006, we uploaded our very first video to YouTube.
Back then, YouTube was only 1 year old. It was a small platform with big possibilities. We shared songs that worked well for teaching English to young students in classroom settings, hoping other teachers might find them useful too. At the time, we had no idea those songs would travel far beyond those classrooms and find themselves in homes and schools around the world. Today, Super Simple is enjoyed in more than 160 countries!
In the past twenty years, we’ve had one consistent goal: to create songs and stories that make learning English feel joyful, playful, and accessible. We’ve watched young fans who first learned with Super Simple Songs grow up and now introduce the songs to their siblings, and even their own children! We’re honored to be a part of your learning journey.
